About the session

In this session, you’ll learn how introducing a variety of flexible approaches into your research planning and execution will let you not only be more effective as user research but also more appreciated by your company or clients.

We’ll talk about why perfection is praised – yet, attempting to do “perfect” research is not only problematic but mostly impossible.

We’ll discuss how to plan your research flexibility, how to manage delays and how to attempt to be efficient without cutting corners. We’ll also cover how to properly set stakeholder expectations.

Participant takeaways:

  • How can you implement flexible research practices into your research efforts?
  • How do you properly set stakeholder expectations about what might occur during research?
  • What should you do if you are told that your research approach is locked into an Agile two-week sprint?
  • What can you do to maintain flexible research inputs and outputs?
  • Why is real-time communication with stakeholders during research especially important and how can you maintain this open communication?
