Kara is a designer and community builder whose expertise is in building design culture in large scale organisations. She managed the UK gov user-centred design community enabling 1000s of practitioners in government to share and learn from each other and co-founded the International Design in Government community bringing together design-minded public servants from over 70 countries.
Kara is the Head of Profession for Design at GDS. As a head of profession she supports designers and GDS through developing community, capability building, recruitment and design standards and best practice. She's worked in the civil service for the past 6 years.
Kara lives in London and is originally from the USA.
