About this Case Study

I am a mobile visual designer; I am also on the autism spectrum. I’ve thrived in my career using self-awareness as a tool for bringing out my best work and approaching design from a different direction. Growing a neurodiverse design team has its hurdles, but the pros far outweigh the cons. I will talk about improving work environments, identifying communication styles and being a great team mate to those that are wired a bit differently.

About the Speaker

Amy is a senior mobile UI designer at Arity Pattern Library team, located in Chicago, IL, USA. She has worked in several different work environments and has a unique perspective on what it means to design and work with others while being on the autism spectrum. She is a neurodiversity advocate and accessibility nerd. In her spare time she is a dog-mom and a painter. Prior to Arity, Amy worked on the mobile team at Allstate, at Next Radio and at Motorola Mobility.
