About this Case Study

Elaina Koros is the content strategist for Messenger Kids, a Facebook app that helps kids chat with their parents and other approved family and friends. She'll explain how her team used participatory design to involve kids in all stages of building Messenger Kids as well as the challenges of designing for a dual audience - kids and their parents. Elaina is passionate about building engaging and safe experiences for kids and will describe best practices for writing and designing for them.

About the Speaker

Elaina Koros is a content strategist at Facebook who works on Messenger Kids, an app that helps children chat with approved friends and family members. Before working at Facebook, she studied journalism at Georgetown University and has previously worked as a political journalist in Washington D.C. In her free time, she likes to write creatively, surf off the coast of California and take ski trips whenever possible.
